If you want to reach us by plane, the Airport nearest to Modena is the one in Bologna (55 kms from Modena). From the Airport Guglielmo Marconi, you can take a bus, a train, a taxi or rent a car.
1. BUS
There is a easy way to come by bus ("ATCM Modena-Aeroporto Bologna" colored in blue): there is a direct bus line from the Airport Marconi in Bologna which arrives to the Central Bus Station in Modena - cost of the ticket 1 ride : about EU 10,00/person luggage included (Check the bus timetable). + Taxi from Modena to Bastiglia (EU 15,00 approx.)
2. TRAIN
There is a bus (named "Aerobus FOLLOW ME") from the Airport to the railway Station of Bologna (check the bus timetable), where you can take a train to Modena - cost of the ticket 1 ride: about EU 5,00 all included (check the trains timetable). + Taxi from Modena to Bastiglia (EU 15,00 approx.)
3. TAXI
Taxi is not certainly the cheapest means of transport (about EU 75,00 from Bologna to Modena or Bastiglia) but it is quite easy for the ones who arrive by night time.
4. RENTED CAR (make your reservation here) Rent a car and follow the below instructions:
the Airport Marconi of Bologna, is far from Bastiglia about 55 Kms.
Go out the Airport and drive straight ahead along the north by-pass road for 2 kms, take the exit 3 on the Highway del Sole A1 and follow the direction Modena - Milano. Get out the by-pass road in correspondence of Modena Sud, turn on the right on the local road up to the north-west by-pass road, direction Mirandola-Verona. Get out at the exit 10a and you'll be on the Strada Statale 12, drive on for 9 kms and you'll arrive in Bastiglia.
The Italian Airport from which it is easy achieving Modena are:
Milano Malpensa - 40 min by train to the Central Railway Station of Milano + 2 hours by train to Modena.
From the International Airport of Malpensa (Milano) to Bastiglia there are about 230 Kms, if you don't want to take the train, you can rent a car, you can make your reservation here and follow the below instructions for reaching us::
take the Highway del Sole A1 southwards, direction Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, MODENA, Bologna, Firenze, Roma. After 215 Kms approx. getout the Highway at the exit Modena Nord, take the by-pass road Luigi Pirandello and drive for 8 kms in direction Mirandola- Verona. At the exit 10b get out of the by-pass road and you'll be on the Starda Statale 12, drive on for 9 kms until you reach Bastiglia.
In alternative to the Highway, you can chose to drive along the Via Emilia (SS 9).
Milano Linate - 30 min by bus to the Central Railway Station of Milano + 2 hours by trian to Modena.
From the Airport of Linate (Milano) to Bastiglia there are about 200 Kms, if you don't want to take the train, you can rent a car you can make your reservation here and follow the below instructions for reaching us:

Roma Fiumicino 30 min by train to the Railway Station "Termini" of Rome + 3 - 4 hours by train to Modena.
From Fiumicino to Bastiglia there are about 450 Kms, if you don't want to take a train you can RENT A CAR, click here for your reservation and follow the below instructions:
ride the Highway A1 northwards up to the exit Modena Sud. Turn on the right of the local road and enter the north-west by-pass road then drive on following the direction Mirandola - Verona. Get out the by-pass road in correspondence of the exit 10b and you'll be on the Srada Statale 12. Drive on for further 9 kms until you reach Bastiglia.
Accomodation:
If you want to stay for the night in the historical centre of Modena, by the Central Park Hotel ****, follow the direction "Centro" (= Center). The Hotel is at 5 min by taxi or 15 min by walk from the Railway Station of Modena.
The hotel is at 5 min by walk from the Bus Central Station of Modena.
